KATHMANDU:- Newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming has pledged to work closely with Nepal to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance what he described as a “China-Nepal community with a shared future.”
Zhang, appointed as the 23rd Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Nepal, said he was honoured by the appointment and grateful for the warm reception he received upon arrival.
“Namaste! It’s my great honour to be appointed,” he said in a message shared on X after landing in Kathmandu, noting that he was deeply impressed by Nepal’s beauty and vitality.
In his remarks on X, Ambassador Zhang stressed mutual support for shared development and reaffirmed China’s commitment to promoting the China-Nepal Strategic Partnership of Cooperation Featuring Everlasting Friendship for Development and Prosperity.
He said he looks forward to working with Nepali partners to expand bilateral exchanges and practical cooperation across sectors.
“Standing together in mutual support for shared development, joining hands to build a China-Nepal community with a shared future,” he stated.
Zhang also ended his message with the slogan, “Long live China-Nepal friendship.”
China and Nepal established diplomatic relations in 1955. In recent years, bilateral engagement has expanded in infrastructure, connectivity, trade and people-to-people exchanges under the framework of their strategic partnership.
