KATHMANDU:- There is the influence of westerly winds, local winds, and a low-pressure area near the eastern part of the country, resulting in generally cloudy weather in the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said. 

The Department stated that generally cloudy conditions are likely over the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and the remaining provinces today.

It added that partly cloudy conditions are likely over the Tarai region of Lumbini Province, while the remaining Tarai regions will remain mainly fair.

There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places of the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at a few places of the Tarai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces as well as at a few places of the hilly and Himalayan regions of Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

According to the Department, heat wave conditions are likely in Sudurpashchim Province, and hot day conditions are likely in the hilly and Tarai regions of Lumbini Province.

Tonight, generally cloudy conditions are likely over Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Partly cloudy conditions are likely over the hilly and Himalayan regions of the remaining provinces, while the remaining Tarai regions will remain mainly fair.

There is a possibility of moderate rain at a few places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, the weather forecast service stated today.(RSS)
