KATHMANDU:- Bhuvan Nagarkoti won the title of Surya Nepal Kathmandu Open, fourth event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2025-26, at the par-68 Royal Nepal Golf Club on Friday.
Bhuvan carded even-par 68 in the final round to post the winning total of 6-under 266. Bhuvan claimed the second straight title of the season and 13th career title, and received Rs 150,000. He registered a four-stroke victory over Dinesh Prajapati and Sanjay Lama.
Dinesh and Sanjay finished tied second at 2-under 270 and they received Rs 95,000 each. Dinesh played 3-over 71 in the final round, while Sanjay shot 1-over 69.
Three pros, Rame Magar, Rabi Khadka and Niraj Tamang shared the fourth position at 1-under 271 and they earned Rs 63,000 each. Rame played 3-over 71, Rabi shot 2-over 70 and Niraj played 1-over 69 in the final round.
Toran Bikram Shahi finished seventh at 2-over 274 after he carded 3-under 65 in the final round. He received Rs 47,000. Jayram Shrestha carded even-par 68 to finish eighth at 3-over 275 and he earned Rs 41,000.
Tanka Bahadur Karki (70) and Bhuwan Kumar Rokka (66) finished tied for ninth at 5-over 277 and they earned Rs 33,500 each.
Bhuvan, who started the day with one-stroke lead over Dinesh, carded even-par 34 on both halves. He carded birdies on the first and fourth holes before dropping shots on the sixth and eighth holes.
After the turn, Bhuvan carded a birdie on the 17th hole and faced a bogey on the final hole.
Dinesh faced bogeys on the first and sixth holes to take the turn at 2-over 36. He carded three birdies on the 10th, 13th and 15th holes but he dropped shots on the 11th, 12th, 14th and 16th holes to end the back nine at 1-over 35.
Sanjay took the turn at 1-over 35 after a bogey on the seventh hole. On the back nine, Sanjay carded a birdie on the 13th hole and dropped a shot on the 18th hole.
In amateur section, national team golfer Rahul Bishwakarma won the title with 72-hole score of even-par 272. Rahul carded 3-under 65 in the final round for eight-stroke victory over Swapnil Bhattarai.
Swapnil, who took part in his second SNGT event, finished second at 8-over 280 after he played 3-over 71 in the final round. Overnight co-leader Mahendra Phagami finished third at 11-over 282 after the shot 4-over 72.
A total of 55 golfers took part in the tournament which carried a prize purse of Rs 875,000.
