KATHMANDU:- The Commission of Inquiry into the Incidents of September 8 and 9, 2025 has stated that there is no need to wait for a report from any other mechanisms of the Government to investigate and take action against those involved in criminal offences.

A statement issued by Commission member Bigyan Raj Sharma states that the Commission’s attention has been drawn by the 25 September statement by the Ministry of Home Affairs which stated that the Government of Nepal would wait for the Commission’s report to proceed further in regards to the incidents that took place during the Gen Z movement.

It also reminds one and all that the Commission was mandated to receive and analyze information or petitions related to physical and human damage caused during the two-day revolt, and provide necessary opinions regarding the action that needs to be taken.

It may be noted that as per the popular demand, the Commission was formed by the Government to investigate the physical and human damages that took place across the country, including Kathmandu, during the ‘Gen Z’ protests and submit a report on it. The Commission began its task on September 25. (RSS)
