KATHMANDU:- CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has announced that the party will form a commission to investigate properties of its leaders and that it will make public property details of its leaders.
Chairman Prachanda, also former Prime Minister, said so in his concluding remarks to the two-day meeting of the Central Committee (CC) today.
He also pointed out the need of adopting a new working style on the part of the leaders and office bearers for management of their family, secretariat and cadres.
“Old styles will not work now, we must adopt new methods, process and procedures,” he said.
He also pointed out a dire need of transformation on the part of party leaders and cadres in cultural practices, personal living styles and organizational working styles.
The Maoist Center Chairman directed party rank and file to provide suggestions in writing about the works to do to make party leaders’ relations with people plain and people-oriented while ensuring that they also lead their everyday life in the same manner.
He viewed that the party will take initiative in making conducive environment for the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) as scheduled, on March 5, 2026.
With the conclusion of the CC meeting, the CC has been turned into a general convention organizing committee.
Before the conclusion of the CC meeting, different groups had discussed Chairman Prachanda’s report and the supplementary reports from vice chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha and deputy general secretary Janardan Sharma and put forth their views in the meeting.
The CC meeting decided to hold the party’s general congress in December, office bearers to become the secretariat of the general convention organising committee, probe into leaders family network in the wake of nepo-kids/nepotism, ensure proportional inclusion of Gen Z in party’s organisations, give top priority to works related to IT and unify with other parties which have similar ideology.
The meeting endorsed Prachanda’s report which will also incorporate proposals put forth by vicechair Shrestha and deputy general secretary Sharma as issues to be discussed in the party convention.
