KATHMANDU:- Mayor Balen Shah has supported the proposal proposed by a faction of the protesting Gen Z group to appoint Sushila Karki as the head of the interim government.
Mayor Shah has also urged the President to immediately form an interim government and dissolve Parliament, the main demands of one faction of the Genji group.
Mayor Shah made his views public through a status on social media on Wednesday night.
Shah has written in support of Karki, “I fully support the proposal from you to lead this interim government, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki. I would like to sincerely respect your understanding, wisdom, and unity.”
Earlier on Wednesday, a group of Gen-G youths who gathered at the military headquarters had agreed to the name of Sushila Karki and proposed it to the Chief of Army Staff.
But another group gathered outside the military headquarters named Dharan Mayor Hark Sampang and Balen Shah himself.

The country is currently in a unique situation, unprecedented in history. You are now taking steps towards a golden future.
Please do not panic at this time, be patient. Now the country is going to an interim government, which will hold new elections in the country. The job of this interim government is to hold elections, to give the country a new mandate.
I fully support your proposal to lead this interim/electoral government, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki. I would like to sincerely respect your understanding, wisdom, and unity.
Situation shows how mature you are.
What I want to say to my friends who are rushing to take over the leadership right now is that the country needs your passion, your thinking, your honesty permanently, not temporarily. There will be elections for that. Please don’t rush.

To protect the historic revolution brought about by the Gen-Gs, an interim government should be formed and Parliament dissolved without delay.
