KATHMANDU:-  Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane is set to visit India on Monday. The RSP has stated that President Lamichhane will visit India from Jestha 18 to 22 (June 1 to 5) at the invitation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Naveen.

According to a press release issued by the party on Sunday, during the visit, President Lamichhane is scheduled to hold high-level political and diplomatic meetings in New Delhi, India. It is stated that he will also meet and discuss with the BJP leadership. During his visit, he will also meet with the Nepali community and party well-wishers in India. He is also scheduled to visit Ayodhya.

Along with President Lamichhane, RSP Joint General Secretary and House of Representatives member Bipin Kumar Acharya, Secretariat members and House of Representatives members Deepak Bohora, Nikita Poudel and Pradeep Acharya will participate.

According to a statement issued by RSP Spokesperson Manish Jha, the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi is making necessary coordination for President Lamichhane’s high-level meeting.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) hopes that the visit will help further strengthen Nepal-India relations and dialogue between political parties of the two countries.

The BJP had made official information about his visit to India public shortly before the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) released its statement.

The BJP statement said that the RSP delegation is scheduled to meet with party chairman Naveen and other senior leaders during the visit.

Although not mentioned in the statements of both the RSP and the BJP, sources have said that the team led by RSP President Lamichhane will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and other leaders.

The ruling party’s visit to India is being viewed with great importance at a time when questions are being raised about relations with its southern neighbor, with the cancellation of Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishra’s visit to Nepal and the undecided traditional visit to India by Nepal’s newly elected Prime Minister.
