KATHMANDU:- The Council of Ministers in Madhesh Province was reshuffled on Thursday.

Province Chief Surendra Labh Karn reshuffled the council of ministers of Madhesh Province on the recommendation of Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav as per Article 168 (9) of the Constitution of Nepal, according to a press statement released by the Spokesperson of the Chief of the Office of Madhesh Province, Sanjip Kumar Dubbe.

As per the new portfolio division of cabinet members, Chief Minister Yadav would also take charge of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Sports, and the Ministry of Social Welfare.

Likewise, Jangi Lal Yadav is now Minister for Health and Population, and Jawaharlal Kushwaha is the Minister for Energy, Irrigation and Drinking Water.

Similarly, Kanish Patel was assigned as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Shankar Prasad Chaudhary as Minister for Forests and Environment and Shyam Prasad Patel as Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative, while Phakira Mahato as Minister for Home, Communications and Law.

As stated in the press release, Mahammad Samir was assigned as the minister without portfolio.

The Province Chief administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers at the Office of the Province Chief on Thursday.
