KATHMANDU:- Parliamentary Hearing Committee has approved Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee held on Tuesday unanimously endorsed Dr. Sharma for the Chief Justice following parliamentary hearing.

Bodh Narayan Shrestha,  president of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee , informed the media persons after the meeting that Dr. Sharma has been endorsed as Chief Justice unanimously.

The decision has been made as per Rule 26 (5) of the Regulations for working procedures of the joint meeting of the federal parliament and joint committee, 2080, to endorse Supreme Court Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma for Supreme Court Chief Justice, said Parliamentary Hearing Committee president Shrestha.

Earlier, Dr. Sharma was recommended by the Constitutional Council for the post.

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee meeting also held hearing on complaints registered against proposed Chief Justice during the parliamentary hearing held today itself.
