KATHMANDU:- The influence of westerly and local winds has caused rainfall in different parts of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The Division said weather conditions are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy this afternoon in the hilly and mountainous areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces, while other regions are likely to witness partial cloud cover.

Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning and temporary gusty winds has been forecast in several districts of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Similar weather activity is also possible in the hilly areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as parts of the Terai region in Koshi Province.

The MFD has warned of possible hailstorms in some Terai areas of Madhes and Koshi provinces. It also stated that temperatures may rise in parts of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, weather conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while partial cloud cover is likely in the hilly areas of Karnali and Madhes provinces. Other parts of the country are expected to experience mainly fair weather.

The Division has urged the public and concerned authorities to remain alert, especially in areas vulnerable to thunderstorms and gusty winds.
