Nepali-American runner Bal Joshi enters Guinness World Records

MIAMI:- Nepali-American runner Bal Joshi has entered the Guinness Book of World Records by completing the ‘World Marathon Challenge’ in Daura Suruwal. Joshi has entered the Guinness Book of World Records by running seven marathons on seven continents, held over seven consecutive days, in a tracksuit.

Guinness World Records representative Michael Imprick presented Joshi with a certificate at the closing ceremony of the ‘World Marathon Challenge’ held in Miami, USA on Friday.  The marathon, which started in Antarctica, traveled to Cape Town in Africa, Perth in Australia, Dubai in Asia, Madrid in Spain, Brazil, and concluded in Miami, USA on the seventh day.

The ‘World Marathon Challenge’, considered to be extremely challenging, has been running since 2015. The competition is called the ‘777 Marathon’ as seven marathons will be held on seven continents for seven consecutive days. 56 runners from 32 countries, including Joshi, participated in the marathon.

Joshi participated in the marathon wearing a Daura Suruwal to show respect for the land and community where he was born. The Daura Suruwal was made by Bishwa Gautam of Kathmandu.
