National Assembly Election: Voting to begin from 9 am in all 7 Provinces

KATHMANDU:- The Election Commission (EC) has confirmed that all preparations are complete for today’s National Assembly (NA) election, scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on 11 Magh (Jan 25), to fill 18 vacant seats effective from 20 Falgun 2082.

Of the 18 seats, one Khas Arya seat in Koshi Province has been filled uncontested, with Sunil Bahadur Thapa of the Nepali Congress elected unopposed. Elections for the remaining 17 seats are being conducted across all seven provinces, EC spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said.

Polling centers have been set up in each province, including: Biratnagar, Morang (Koshi Province); Mahendrarayan Nidhi Mithila Cultural Centre, Janakpur (Madhesh Province); Bhutandevi Secondary School, Hetauda (Bagmati Province); Provincial Election Office, Pokhara (Gandaki Province); Staff Gathering Centre, Ghorahi (Lumbini Province); Provincial Election Office, Birendranagar (Karnali Province); and Provincial Election Office, Dhangadhi (Sudurpashchim Province).

Eligible voters for the NA election include Provincial Assembly members, Mayors and Deputy Mayors of municipalities, and Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of rural municipalities. The EC has urged all voters to participate responsibly in the election process.
