KATHMANDU:- The Supreme Court has issued an interim order directing Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Yadav not to make any decisions that could have a long-term impact.

A single bench of Justice Tek Prasad Dhungana today instructed Chief Minister Yadav to refrain from taking any policy decisions with lasting consequences for the province. The order was issued in response to a writ petition filed on Monday by Arjun Sah and Raki Prasad Sah.

The court has given priority to the case and has summoned both parties for the next hearing on November 26. It has also directed that a written response be submitted by November 27.

In a separate case today, the Supreme Court declined to issue an interim order on a writ petition filed by Arghakhanchi Cement Limited regarding outstanding power dues for its dedicated and trunkline electricity services.

Justice Dhungana’s single bench rejected the request for an interim order and has called both sides for a hearing on November 16. The Nepal Electricity Authority had previously disconnected the company’s power supply following a tariff dispute.
